When I initially started with Debbie, I was feeling down about my post-menopausal body. Despite leading what I thought was a healthy lifestyle, eating well and exercising regularly, I couldn’t seem to lose weight and my clothes were not fitting well. I had low energy and was just not feeling like myself.

Prior to meeting with Debbie and starting this program, I had done many “diets“ and none seemed to stick. I would lose the weight and then eventually it would creep back on. When I started to work with Debbie, I began to really learn about food- what fuels my body, what helps to keep me full, and what is sustainable. I started to really look at labels more, became more aware of what to have before and after a workout and started to have a plate of veggies with a side of protein rather than the other way around! I was given loads of recipes that are easy to follow.

I have been adding more pressed juices as a “go to snack” instead of snacks that don’t have nutritional value. I am trying to cook more dinners at home that are balanced.

I definitely feel more informed about food than ever before.

Working with Debbie was a positive, knowledgeable and fun few months and I am confident that what I learned with Debbie will stay with me forever.

“I feel terrific! I have always been very darn healthy. The difference is I now know that I am feeding my body much healthier foods, and when I deviate I do feel the difference. My weight for the winter and holiday season is about 8-10 lbs less than past years, and I have been able to enjoy a few conscious cheats while following Debbie’s 80:20 philosophy.

The most significant, measurable outcome of my 6 month program with Debbie is that my overall Cholesterol reading went from 243 to 215, (and that wasn’t even my primary focus). When I began the program my goal was to lose some weight and learn how to maintain it while eating nutritious and healthy food. In the past I achieved this mostly by fasting and counting calories, in an unhealthy and unrealistic way..

The most important and significant behavioral change is that I now actually cook more, and enjoy it, rather than just using the microwave to reheat “diet” foods. I have learned why I needed more protein and what the fat burning foods ACTUALLY are.

Debbie’s ability to allow me to be as REAL as I could be during our sessions has made me feel rejuvenated mentally as well as physically. Both my MIND and BODY have been “nutritionized”… my word for MY unique experience with my coach Debbie Janoff.

Going forward into 2019, I plan to write down what I eat, and pay attention to those foods which I am aware do not work for my body.”

On Monday, July 7th, we launched our current Healthy Living Lecture Series through MDVIP. Debbie Janoff, Certified Integrative Nutritional Health Coach, was our first lecturer and she drew our largest audience. She spoke on “The Skinny on Fats and the Sour on Sweets” with great passion and knowledge, teaching us how to identify hidden sugars in the foods we eat and the importance of doing so. She also shared her delicious Super Seed Granola with us (and it was delicious!). Debbie’s practice Wholey Fit Nutrition, works with clients to identify better eating habits, whether for weight loss or general well-being, and she is a great resource for dietary information for our patients.

“It is with great pleasure, and 32 pounds lighter, that I write this review. I am Debbie’s husband BUT, before you dismiss this based on that information, I recommend you read on. I watched Debbie earn her degree, and she is passionate about being a Health Coach as she successfully opened her own company ‘Wholey Fit Nutrition’. Hers’ is not the same old approach to losing weight. Believe me, I tried any and every imaginable program over decades.  I lost the weight numerous times but, I could not keep it off.

Debbie’s approach is so unique, and her secret is, she listens to her clients and understands, like me, that ‘will power’ only lasts so long. I needed to quench my thirst for sweets at times, among other things.  She prepared the most delicious sweets, that were not fattening.  I know it is hard to believe, but I promise it is true. I began Debbie’s program in May, 2014, and over the course of about 4 months I lost 32 pounds with almost no cravings.  But even when I had cravings, she had given me choices, that really worked for me.

Probably the biggest testimonial for Debbie, as a Health Coach, came about 6 weeks after I had a complete knee replacement this past January. I went back to my surgeon for a follow up to the procedure 6 weeks post surgery.  His comment was “if I saw any one of my patients after 6 months of the replacement, let alone 6 weeks, and their knee was this much improved, I would be thrilled”.

I told him that I had not only lost 32 pounds but, I had cleaned up my food, and he said “with that kind of eating, you obviously removed the toxins, and that certainly had to assist in the healing process to make the rehabilitation so speedy and with virtually little pain”.  On a scale of 0-10, with 10 being the highest pain, I never went past 2.  Now I am a man and, if you are anything like me, I was certain before the procedure, that I would be milking the pain card for quite some time.  I did not because of the new healthier foods Debbie taught me to enjoy.

I can only say, that if you have tried to lose weight over and over throughout your life as I have, and keep putting it back on, Debbie’s’ Health Coaching was the only thing that has EVER worked for me, and continues working to this day.
